Winds befall Wapak

Through tears a Wapakoneta woman talked about the damage a heavy windstorm late Wednesday night and early this morning caused to her home of 40 years.
Carolyn and Ron Zenz were in bed when the heavy winds came through just before midnight Wednesday, ripping their front porch off the house and tossing it into the neighbor’s yard. Half of their roof was peeled back on the home and the winds flung their front porch swing into a neighbor’s truck.

Richard Wagner, 72

Richard A. Wagner, 72, of Cridersville, died at 4:59 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Cleveland Clinic.
He was born June 10, 1941 in Lima, to Eunice E. (Gattshall) and Randal R. Wagner Sr. Both parents preceded him in death. On Nov. 28, 1963, he married Phyllis J. Walter, who survives in Cridersville.

Patricia Elsass, 83

Patricia L. “Pat” Elsass, 83, of Wapakoneta, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home, where she had resided since March 18, 2013.
She was born July 31, 1929, in Cambridge, the daughter of Frances (Jacobs) and Albert R. Moon, who are deceased. On Jan. 26, 1952, she married Nelson R. “Pete” Elsass, who died Sept. 16, 2005.

Patricia Elsass, 83, of Wapakoneta, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.

ACHD: No refund

A request for a refund of a temporary food license application fee was rejected Tuesday by Auglaize County Health Board members.
Health Board member Dr. Thomas Freytag suggested the board not approve the refund of $70 to Pat Allen, who brought an elephant ear “fair type” stand to a truck pull at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds.

Raising the level of ACHS
