Senate to act on water bill

May 15, 2013

Legislation providing grants for dam inspections and safety plans would likely not provide money for the low-head dam in Wapakoneta, but two dams in St. Marys may qualify.    

Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown explained Tuesday in a media teleconference the reasons he supports the Water Resources Development Act that the U.S. senators will vote on this week.

County medical director renewed

May 15, 2013

Dr. Juan Torres agreed to serve another year as the medical director for Auglaize County.

Torres, who has been paid $660 per month since he was hired in May 2008, had his contract unanimously approved Tuesday by Auglaize County Health Board members.His annual salary is less than $8,000.
