Week in review: JV baseball reamins perfect

The quest for perfection continues for the Wapakoneta Redskins junior varsity squad.

After two victories last week, the Redskins improved to 9-0 with wins against the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds and the Sidney Yellow Jackets.

Junior pitcher Jake Bruns shut down the T-birds with three innings of relief, striking out three and keeping unblemished mark in hits and walks as the Redskins came back for a 9-6 win.

Cleola Miller, 86

Cleola Miller, 86, of Pleasant Hill, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Versailles Health Care Center.
She was born June 24, 1926, to the late Dora (Ross) and William Agne. Cleola is survived by her husband of 70 years, Paul E. Miller.

If a bipartisan bill passes, one of the co-sponsors says he believes the legislation will connect employers with the workers they need and workers with the training they need to secure a better employment future.

Republican U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, of Ohio, discussed Wednesday the benefits “The Careers through Responsive, Efficient, and Effective Retraining Act” would have on job seekers and employers. The CAREER Act is legislation he co-sponsored with Democratic U.S. Sen. Michael Bennett, of Colorado.
