Janice Olive Metz, 82, of Botkins, died Sunday, March 11, 2012.
She was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Buckland, the daughter of Lucina (Agner) and Glen Sprague, On June 12, 1949, she married the love of her life, Victor Leroy Metz, a World War II veteran, they shared 62 years together, and he survives.
Carol A. McGinnis, 92, of Cridersville, died Monday, March 12, 2012, at her residence.
She was born March 18, 1919, in Lima, to Florence V. Hammer and Harry Muntis Sr. In 1973, she married Lester L. McGinnis and he preceded her in death in 1970.
Surviving are two sons, Russell McGinnis, of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Gary McGinnis.
Services are at 4 p.m. Sunday at Southside Christian Church. with the Rev. Doug Adams officiating.

Pearl Walker, 84, formerly of 319 S. Beech St., St. Marys, died at 8:40 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at Golden Living Center â Valley in St. Marys.
She was born April 26, 1927, in Pruden, Tenn., to Mary (Adkins) and Elvin Orick.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Donald E. Miller Sr. 80, of Uniopolis, died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Otterbein-Cridersville.
He was born July 20, 1931, in Lima, the son of Pearl Arizona Roberts and John Lawrence Miller, who are both parents are deceased. On Jan. 15, 1949, he married his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Shirley Ann Jackson, she survives in Uniopolis.

Marie M. Arnett, 90, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born May 6, 1921, in Fryburg, the daughter of Mary (Reier) and John Roth, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 26, 1944, she married Frederick âFritzâ Arnett, who died Jan. 17, 1992.
In light of a recent pit bull attack on its owner in Celina, an Auglaize County official says state legislators may have acted irresponsibly by eliminating the “vicious dog” label on pit bulls in a new state letter.
A Wapakoneta native will be putting his knowledge to the test, as he will be a contestant on an episode of Jeopardy that airs Monday.
Alex Wright, who had went through the show’s multi-step tryout process, was selected to fly to Los Angeles to film the show.
Being on Jeopardy had been one of the 2002 Wapakoneta High School graduate’s dreams.
A projected budget for 2013, annual confidentiality statements for employees, and a less expensive copier lease proposal were all approved Tuesday by the Auglaize County Health Board members.
The local Health Board is required to submit a proposed budget for 2013 to the state by the first Monday in April.
“It’s a guessing game,” said Auglaize County Health Commissioner Charlotte Parsons, who based the projected budget on this year’s numbers.
Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers junior Kaylee Patton (20) earned Honorable Mention on the Division IV girls basketball All-Ohio teams announced Tuesday. Patton led the Tigers in several categories this season, averaging 24.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
