While the two newest members of the Wapakoneta Fire Department have similar personalities, they started their lives in different towns, attended rival high schools and arrived at their decision to be a firefighter in different manners.
But Kevin Bellman and Cody Wycuff also have one other thing in common — they just want to help people and make a difference in their community. Their divergent paths crossed this summer when these two men, with similar personalities, were hired by Wapakoneta Fire Chief Kendall Krites.
Local Republican Party members officially opened the Auglaize County Republican Headquarters Friday as the election looms only two months away.

Howard Crocker, 70, of Cridersville, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012.
Surviving are a wife, Linda; two sons, Jim and John; a daughter-in-law, Barb; and a son-in-law, Daniel.
He worked as an independent contractor for the Wapakoneta Daily News delivering newspapers to the Botkins area.
Services are at 2 p.m. today at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland, Ind.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Annabelle Lucille Tangeman, 98, died at 3:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Auglaize Acres in Wapakoneta.
She was born March 29, 1914, in Auglaize County, near Buckland and Wapakoneta, the daughter of Ruth Regina (Newland) Weimert and George Henry Harruff, and they preceded her in death. On Dec. 24, 1932, at the home of Reverand A.M. Daehnke in Cridersville, she married Virgil Franklin Tangeman.

Gary L. McCoy Sr., 64, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Lima Manor.
He was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Canton, Ill., the son of Betty Jo (Hukill) and Richard McCoy, who preceded him in death.
On Aug. 28, 1972, he married Judy L. McBeth, who survives in Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are two sons, Craig McCoy and Richard McCoy; a daughter, Michelle Schrober; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Karen Jo Reed and Kathy Blumenstein.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary McCoy Jr., and a brother,, Michael McCoy.
Rebecca Suzanne “Becky” Mosler, 65, was called home by the Lord at 9:28 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at her residence. Her husband and children were at her side as she peacefully departed after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Becky was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Lima, the daughter of Mary Louise (Gehrlich) and Elmer Neumeier. Her father preceded her in death. On Aug. 20, 1966, she married the love of her life, Thomas J. Mosler, who survives.
