Thomas G. Miller, 67, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:07 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Arrangements are incomplete at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.

Randy Stettler, 60

Randy Stettler, 60, was reunited with his family in Heaven July 6, 2012.
He was born Feb. 18, 1952, to Phyllis (Fruch-ey) and Allen (Ted) Stettler, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 23, 1990, he married his best friend and soulmate, Mary Catherine Stuber who survives. They had an extraordinary 34 years together. Every day was an adventure.
They had a self-adopted daughter, Kama Hope Dunlap (John) Stokes, and their son, Trevor.
He had many aunts and an uncle and many cousins, who loved him. He had many, many good friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Lois Parlette, 79

Lois R. “Sarge” Parlette, 79, of Cridersville, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at her residence.
She was born March 4, 1933, in Spencerville, the daughter of Mary (Brown) and John Bowers, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 4, 1954, she married James J. “Jim” Parlette, and he preceded her in death Nov. 19, 2009.

James Tarter, 92

James L. Tarter, 92, of Lima, died at 6:42 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.
He was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Wytheville, Va., the son of to Georgia (Lambert) and Lacy Mathias Tarter, who preceded him in death. On June 24, 1939, he married Marjorie R. Morgan, and she preceded him in death Oct. 19, 2010.

Marlene Lambert, 76

Marlene C. Lambert, 76, of Wapakoneta, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 16, 2012, at her home following a sudden illness.
She was born May 3, 1936, in Botkins, the daughter of Freida (Linard) and William Gehrlich, who preceded her in death. On June 8, 1957, she married Ordell Lambert, who preceded her in death Aug. 1, 2007. They celebrated a golden anniversary of 50 years of marriage together.

Facade backing: Council to review program to revitalize downtown Wapak

A new program proposed by a Wapakoneta business organization hopes for city financial  support and municipal backing to help property and business owners improve the façades of downtown buildings.

Downtown Wapakoneta Partnership (DWP) representative Sue Siesel outlined Monday a planned façade improvement program for Wapakoneta City Council members to review and requested financial support of $10,000 each year for the next three years.

Native attends memorial service

With three local Eagle Scouts being present at a national memorial honoring the first man on the moon, another representative who has a special connection to Wapakoneta area also was in attendance on that day of national mourning.

Dr. Ellen Baker, formerly of Wapakoneta, was an usher at last Thursday’s memorial service to honor Wapakoneta native Neil Armstrong at Washington National Cathedral.
