Chief wins award: Red Cross honors Krites with Clara Barton honor

April 24, 2012

A member of the Wapakoneta Fire Department recently placed a plaque from the American Red Cross in his office — honored by the recognition but also believing he escaped the publicity which accompanies such a tribute.

Wapakoneta Fire Chief Kendall Krites says he just set out his Clara Barton Award plaque after earning the honor this month.

“I was actually shocked and it was also very humbling,” Krites said after being presented with the award at a luncheon.

He received the honor for his work in Auglaize County.
