During their meeting Monday, Waynesfield-Goshen Board of Education members officially hired Pfister officially as its superintendent.
“When I came to Waynesfield, I did not know what to expect,” Pfister said. “I knew there were community issues and obviously financial issues with the recent buy-out and reduction-in-force. I also knew that the board was very concerned with academic achievement and fiscal stability, their top two goals for 2011-12.
Demand for camping sites at the Auglaize County Fair continues to grow, and to ease the backlog fairgrounds crews are creating a private electric generator area.
Auglaize County Agricultural Society Secretary Fred Piehl informed Fair Board members the waiting list for fairgrounds’ 350 camping sites during the Auglaize County Fair has grown to 60, with demand growing each year.
Friends of a Buckland woman who lost all her belongings and suffered injuries in a fire days before Christmas are hoping the community comes out to offer its support at a fundraiser this weekend.
From 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Buckland Fire Department a bingo benefit is being planned for Becky Krites. Her friends, Missy Johnson and Niki Oren, are planning the event with the help of a large number of supporters. Tickets for the event must be purchased by Friday to attend.
