Auglaize County Women Infants and Children (WIC) Director Cindy McFarland is not viewing her approaching retirement as the end. She is looking at it as a new beginning.

WAYNESFIELD — White Memorial Library Supervisor Pamela Kennon is relatively new to working in a library setting.
When Kennon decided to host an open house Tuesday at the library, she had two goals in mind.
“I wanted to use it as an opportunity to meet some of the patrons,” Kennon said. “We also wanted to give people the opportunity to stop by and see what we had to offer.”
A member of the University of Northwest Ohio (UNOH) Motorsport team is scheduled to be the featured speaker at a special Race Car Day breakfast during the Children’s Hometown Holiday at the beginning of December.

Karen Sue Ashbaugh-Piredda, , 65, of Pittsfield, beloved wife of Robert R. Piredda, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at their home.
Karen was born in Lima, on June 1, 1947, the daughter of the late Melba C. (Young) and James E. Wolfe. She was a graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School in Wapakoneta, and moved to the Berkshires in 1997 to watch her grandchildren grow up.
Having various employers in her lifetime, the most significant was her administrative employment at Hospice Care in the Berkshires where she thoroughly enjoyed being part of a bigger cause.
Norman R. Dulebohn 67, of Wapakoneta died at 6:45 a.m., Nov. 12, 2012 at St. Ritaâs Medical Center, Lima.
He was born March 7, 1945, in Auglaize County to Viola N. (Kaeck) and Charles B. Dulebohn who preceded him in death.
He is survived by four sisters and one brother; Carolyn (John) Hudnall, Jean (William) Ott, Wally (Elaine) Dulebohn, all of Wapakoneta, Marilyn (Joe) Garcia, of Cridersville, Doris Cottrell, of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Dulebohn.
Doyle R. âButchâ Yost 75, of Wapakoneta, died at 10:48 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at his residence.
He was born April 24, 1937, in Stillwater, Pa., to Lois B. (Hess) and Frank D. Yost, who preceded him in death. He was married to Elizabeth A. (Miller) Scott for 23 years, and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are a son, Jeff (Rhonda) Yost, of Cridersville; a daughter, Diane (Gerald) Miller, of Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Angela, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, and Catherine; two great-grandsons, Aaron and Gabriel; a brother, Frank Yost; and a sister, Laura Gierhart.
Kurt Allan Metzger, 53 of Coldwater, died at 7:55 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born May 13, 1959, in Lima, the son of Maris Yuteve (Kirchner) and Kermit E. âWhiteyâ Metzger, who survive in Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are a sister, Elisha (Bart) Smith, of Wapakoneta; two nieces, Andrea Smith Brookhart and Emily Smith; an uncle and aunt, Norman and Bonnie Kirchner; and many cousins.
Nadine D. Frese 78, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at St. Ritaâs Medical Center in Lima, with her family by her side.
She was born June 13, 1934, in Allen County, to the late Margaret (Carter) and Harold A. Perry. On Jan. 1, 1952 she married Norman Edward Frese, who died Feb. 21, 1999.
