CELINA — An area veterinarian gave a dog at the center of a civil court case a “clean bill of health” Tuesday after giving the animal a routine check-up.
Attorneys on both sides of an ownership battle of the dog agreed to allow an inspection of health of the animal and an update of shots at the Celina Animal Hospital.
Craig Miesse, the veterinarian inspecting the dog, determined that the male dog was in good health and was still intact, which maintained a temporary restraining order through Auglaize County Municipal Court against the animal being neutered.
A relentless wind and a relentless barrage of shots by the Bath Wildcats were too much for the Wapakoneta Redskins to overcome as Bath rolled to 5-1 win in a varsity girls soccer match Tuesday at Ryan Field.

The commander of the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol recently announced plans for a sobriety checkpoint within his coverage area this weekend.
The checkpoint for drivers operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is meant to intercept impaired motorists, Lt. Scott Carrico said.
“Usually we don’t get a lot of OVIs out of it, but it is used as a tool to increase awareness, educate and as a deterrent,” Carrico told the Wapakoneta Daily News.
With the wind to its back in the second half, the Wapakoneta Redskins varsity boys soccer team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to post a 3-1 win over the Bluffton Pirates on Tuesday at Harmon Field.
Bluffton took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute on a goal by Lucas Harnish and held that advantage through the rest of the first half.
Colin Mankin put the Redskins on the board with a goal in the 52nd minute.
Travis Bertram scored on an assist from Andy Faller to put Wapak on top 2-1 in the 69th minute. And Cody Benny knocked in the Redskins’ third goal in the 81st minute.
