Wava Spradlin, 85

Wava R. Spradlin, age 85, died at 12:05 pm Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at St.Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born May 29, 1926 in Hardin County to Frank B. and Nona (Krisher) Gunn. On October 19, 1945 she married Darrell C. “Jim” Spradlin who died May 15, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon A. (Clarence) Lowery, Belle Center, Deborah K. Vance, Waynesfield, 5 grandchildren, J. Kevin (Missy) Spradlin, Heather (Douglas) Moore, Jason (Marcia) Vance, Matthew (Kera) Lowery, Joshua (Kathy) Vance, nine great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Millard (Bud) Bowling.

Geraldine Ramga, 89

Geraldine Carolynn Ramga, 89, 06755 Lock 14 Road, Wapakoneta, died at 10:40 a.m. June 18, 2011 at her home.
She was born April 30, 1922, to Glen and Grace Bailey Bonifield. In 1938 sSe married Paul Ramga, and he passed away on June 8, 1959.
her grandchildren and was a nanny to her beloved great grandchildren from 1989 to 2009.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolynn (Ray) Sidey, Pauletta (Jim) Welshimer of Findlay ; and a son Glenn (Kay) Ramga of Wapakoneta.

Joan Earl, 79

Joan “Jo” Earl, 79, died at 6:43 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born Dec. 15, 1931 inDunkirk, to Mary Bell (Hebling) and Jonas Jasper Wheatley.
On June 18, 1950, in Harrod, she married Myron Kenneth “Kenny” Earl and he survives in Waynesfield. They just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.

Lois Landfair, 95

Lois B. Landfair, 95. of Lima, died at 11:50 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Cridersville Health Care Center in Cridersville.
She was born Feb. 28, 1916, in Lima to Doris Elizabeth Shadley and Elmer Clarence Yoakam, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 4, 1935, she married Robert G. Landfair, who died June 18, 1991.

Janice Louise Regula, 82

Janice Louise Regula, 82, of Jackson Center, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Wapakoneta Manor, Wapakoneta.
She was born in Auglaize County, on July 4, 1928, a daughter of the late Goldie C. (Ruck) and Albert Lunz.

Hubert Warnecke, 75

Hubert E. “Herb” Warnecke, 75, of Spencerville, died at 8:20 a.m., June 17, 2011, at Community Health Professionals Van Wert Hospice Center.
He was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Delphos, the son of Leona (Gable) and Edward Warnecke, who preceded him in death.
On Nov. 8, 1958, he married Janice R. Burnfield, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Kevin L. Warnecke, of Spencerville; and a daughter,, Cynthia S. Warnecke, of Knox, Ind.

Ruby Suever, 83

Ruby Lee Suever, 83, of Montezuma, formerly of Spencerville, died at 9:26 a.m. June 17, 2011, at the Celina Manor.
She was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Wise Co., Va., Martha Jane (Maggard) and Denver Lee Sturgill, who preceded her in death.
In July 1984, she married Leonard Suever, and he died Oct. 13, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Patrick Patterson, of Columbus, Ga., Randy Patterson, of Montezuma; a daughter, Patsy Gardner, of Kingsport, Tenn., 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Sturgill, of Wapakoneta; and a sister, Lena Mae (Nathaniel) Hamilton, Wise, Va.

Doyle Krouskop, 59

Doyle Wayne Krouskop, 59, of Ramona, Calif., died May 30 while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
He was born May 29, 1952, in Ohio, to Helen (Tuttle) and Harold Monroe Krouskop.
Survivors are a son, Kevin (Becky) Krouskop; a brother Roger (Alice) Krouskop; a sister, Janice (Jim) Felver; and three grandchildren, Abby, Kendra and Alexander Krouskop.
Prceding him in death were his mother and father and a brother, Dennis.

RACING: Kahne to race at Waynesfield

WAYNESFIELD — An Ohio Sprint Speedweek show is always a big draw.
For Waynesfield Raceway Park, tonight’s race is going to be a little bit bigger.
NASCAR Sprint Cup star Kasey Kahne will take on the best of the All-Star Circuit of Champions during the Speedweek race — stop No. 3 in the eight-race week — tonight at Waynesfield.
Kahne is no stranger to Sprint car racing, having cut his teeth on the dirt tracks of his home state of Washington before competing in the national USAC and World of Outlaws series.

Festival to kick off with 5K

A new fun event for the family is being incorporated into a local Fourth of July festival this year.
The St. Joe Firecracker 5K Run/Walk is scheduled to take place on July 2. Registration the day of the race will begin at 7:45 a.m. and the race is slated to start at 9 a.m. at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds.
The event is sponsored by St. Joseph Church and is in conjunction with the St. Joe Fourth of July Festival. For a registration form, go to www.speedy-feet.com, and select the “races” tab.
