ACME: Miller enters record books in Wapak win

June 17, 2011

NEW KNOXVILLE — Wapakoneta ACME coach Willie Sammetinger shook his head and smiled.
“I’ve never seen anybody have three,” he said.
“That” would be three triples in a game.
Wapak first baseman Brandon Miller did just that in a 14-6 win Thursday at New Knoxville, setting a new Wapak ACME record.
Wapak remained perfect on the season at 9-0.
How rare is three triples in a game? Consider this: in Major League history it has only happened 48 times. Compare that to hitting for the cycle, which has happened 291 times.
