Chester E. Hittepole Sr., 85, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at the Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Oct. 5, 1926, in St. Johns, the son of Mabel (Kiese) and Glen Hittepole, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 17, 1947, he married Dorothy M. Werling, and she survives.
Loretta I. Bustetter, 84, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Auglaize County, the daughter of Anna (Brautigam) and Albert Seitz, who preceded her in death. On June 6, 1945, she married Alfred A. Bustetter, and he survives.
Marilyn E. Hawk, 80, of Celina, passed away Nov. 20 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
She was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Celina, to the late Hilda P. (Schoch) and Eugene C. Heckler. On June 14, 1952, she married Richard E. Hawk and he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1995.
Mary Webb, 73, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:24 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

A six-year veteran of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was selected as the 2011 “Trooper of the Year†at the Wapakoneta Post.
Joshua J. Carter was selected for the honor in recognition of his outstanding service throughout the year, Wapakoneta Post Commander Lt. Scott Carrico said.
Fellow troopers and supervisors assigned to the post chose Carter based on his leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, and enthusiastic work attitude, along with his cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.

A line item in a supplemental appropriation drew the attention of two Wapakoneta City Council members and the city’s administration.
To balance the Wapakoneta City Recreation Department’s budget for the end of the year, a shift of $7,000 from the Wapakoneta WaterPark Fund to the city’s Recreation Fund had to be made to cover outstanding expenses.
While the transfer is necessary this year, Mayor Rodney Metz said he does not want this to happen again in the future.

BOTKINS — Botkins High School senior Jenna Christman has approached high school with a solid philosophy. A philosophy, she says, she hopes more students will apply to themselves before they graduate.
“If you want to try something, now is the time to do it,†Christman said. “This is the time when you can try everything and see if you like it. Don’t wait until you are a senior to try something. I’ve seen a lot of people wait until they were seniors and then they try something and find out they enjoyed it. They lose out on a lot.â€
Harry E. Wilson, 88, of Lima, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Colliersville, Va., the son of Cora Lee Cummings and Estil L. Wilson. On Dec. 15, 1964, he married Marilyn J. Lauer who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Bradley Wilson, of Angola, Ind.
No public services or visiting hours are planned.
