BOTKINS — Officials from any school district would be proud to have four students among the top 10 in just about any conceivable competition.
Now imagine doing that at either a state or a national competition.
Four Botkins High School students pulled of that feat Sept. 17. Competing at The Big E, a national fair held in West Springfield, Mass., seniors Seth Aufderhaar, Jordan Marx and Jordan Fledderjohann along with junior Logan Russell, all placed in the top 10 in the national livestock judging competition.

OTTAWA — Offense, defense and special teams.
You name it, Wapak owned it.
The Wapakoneta Redskins made big plays on all three as they pulled away to an emphatic 35-14 win over the state-ranked Ottawa-Glandorf Titans on Friday at Titan Stadium.
With the exception of a five-minute span in the second quarter, this one was all Redskins.
“I was just so proud of our kids tonight,” Wapak coach Doug Frye said. “I’m proud to be their coach and I was proud of their effort.”
Wapak remained unbeaten on the season at 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the Western Buckeye League.
WAYNESFIELD — The highly educated know that in the wild, the Tiger is the best swimmer among the feline class.
Waynesfield-Goshen proved that fact well with a 50-6 Homecoming win over the Riverside Pirates on Friday night in near monsoon conditions.
“With the wet field conditions, we knew that we had to put points up right away,” W-G coach Gary Spencer said.
Tigers running back Gabe Hennon put points up not even a minute into the game with a 48-yard run. He added two more in the first quarter and another 48-yard run with 11:53 in the second quarter.
